Relaxation isn’t the easiest thing to achieve these days. A million and one tasks demand our attention on a daily basis and it can be hard to quiet your mind. I have a bad habit of sitting down to unwind and before you can say “Uncle!”, I’ve wasted an hour mindlessly wandering Facebook.
My solution to this problem was to create a Relaxation Kit. The goal of the kit is to help you relax with some unplugged activities. By putting all you need to unwind in one place, you can simply sit down and relax. No running all over the house looking for your People Magazine only to get distracted by a task that can be put off until tomorrow. Your dusty blinds can wait! Take care of yourself tonight. Read on to learn how to make your own Relaxation Kit.
What you need:
-a bag or basket for storage. I use a Pehr Canvas bin.
-crayons or colored pencil
– 1 simple craft project
Personalize it! Add items to your box that you enjoy. Here are some extra ideas:
-Crossword or Sudoku puzzles
-Catalogs to flip through
-Knitting or Crochet Project
What To Do:
- Put all the items above into the storage container of your choosing.
- Place your kit next to your spot: that cozy spot you sit in each evening.
- When you work for the day is done, dinner has been served and the kitchen cleaned up: put your phone out of reach. I charge mine in another room.
- Now for the fun! Take a seat and enjoy whatever is in your bag.
I hope this simple project helps you find a little more peace during these long autumn nights. Let me know in the comments below if the Relaxation Kit is working for you.
