Happy Thanksgiving! I celebrated with my husband’s family on the coast of South Carolina. We traded in autumn leaves and grey skys for sunshine and palm trees. We had a lot of fun reconnecting with family and getting second helpings of every dish (especially the desserts)!
My husband’s family lives near the beach. Can you imagine a more relaxing place to visit relatives? The weather was perfect– just enough chill in the air to feel festive but still warm enough for a walk on the beach. We celebrated Thanksgiving Day with my husband’s aunt, uncle and cousins. The hostess created the most beautiful table settings: she brought her own china from home for everyone to enjoy. That is one dedicated hostess! For the feast, every guest brought a different dish. We enjoyed a smorgasbord of noms: My favorites were the turkey and homemade mac and cheese.
On Saturday, our cousin brought by some hand-me-downs for the baby girl we are expecting in March. She has fabulous taste and a daughter who has out grown all of her baby clothes. As a result, my baby already has an entire wardrobe waiting for her.
We had such a fun weekend, it was hard to come home. But Christmas is now on its way! I’ll leave you with a few more pictures of the festivities.
I hope you had a fun Thanksgiving. How did you celebrate? Let me know in the comments below.
